Gavin Harris is a happy man. Ever since he was a boy, he was mad keen on the cinema. As he got older, he grew to love the 'art house' films from all over the world. Now in his fifties, he had achieved his ambition - to own and run his own independent movie theatre. His friends had told him he was crazy and it had led to the breakdown of his marriage, but he had gone ahead and sunk most of his money into the purchase of a rundown old cinema - the Majestic - in a rundown part of North London.
